Extra-Curricular Activities

The college looks to involve students in extra-curricular activities which more than complement curricular studies. 

a)   The NSS unit of the college organises and conducts a host of activities involving the students:

• Awareness Programmes & Cleanliness Drives
• Community Work
• Annual Camps
• Slum Survey by students
• Tie-up with Bengal Social Service League (BSSL), an NGO
• Regular recruitment of volunteers from among student cadets

 b)   The Students’ Council plays a great role in organising and conducting the following activities :

•  Blood Donation Camps
• Health Check-up and ECG Camps
• Cultural programmes, debates and quiz competitions

 c)   Sporting Activities:

•  College Annual Sports at the Calcutta University Grounds
• Participation in inter-college tournaments
• Indoor sporting activities and competitions

The Students’ Common Room plays a central role here in hosting many of these programmes.
